KulturRegion has many members from the FrankfurtRheinMain area.
50 districts, towns and municipalities are part of it. The Regionalverband is also included.

What KulturRegion stands for

  • Culture in the region should be strong.
  • Cultural offers should be open and barrier-free for everyone.
  • Different cultural offers should be connected.

Arrival by public transport

KulturRegion is on the ground floor of the “Haus der Region”.
The building is about 300 meters from Frankfurt main station.

The Deutsche Bahn pick-up service helps you to get on, off and change trains at the station.
Please register the day before: 030 6521 2888

Accessvideo: How do you get to Haus der Region?

From the station to KulturRegion

Go from the platform to the Service Point in the middle of the station.
Then go to the north exit, this is the exit to Poststraße. There are stairs and a ramp.

You have two ways:

Way 1:
Turn left immediately when you leave the station. Go down the lowered curb. Cross the exit and stay on the right.
Go along the parking area. At the end, cross at the zebra crossing. Then go about 50 meters straight on the sidewalk with bollards. On the right, you see “Haus der Region”.

Way 2:
Go straight over the zebra crossing. Turn left.
Follow the wide sidewalk until the end. Cross the street.
Continue straight on Poststraße. After about 50 meters, you see “Haus der Region” on the right.

Disabled parking spaces

Behind the KulturRegion building there are 5 free disabled parking spaces.
You must reserve a parking space. Please call us: +49 (0) 69 2577-0

How to enter the parking lot

The parking lot has a barrier. On the screen press "Regionalverband". Then the barrier opens.
The parking lot is on ground level and easy to use with a wheelchair.

Accessibility in the building

Barrier-free entrance

The barrier-free entrance is next to the revolving door.
Please ring at the column in front of the entrance. Our reception will help you. The reception is opposite the entrance.

Access to the rooms

You reach the rooms of KulturRegion on the ground floor by 6 steps. You can also use the wheelchair lift. Please tell the reception if you need the lift.

Rooms on other floors can be reached by elevators. The elevators are in the entrance area. The buttons are not easy to feel, but the floors are announced with an audio speaker.

Our terrace in the basement is barrier-free.

Accessible toilet

From the entrance area go right through two doors. Behind them, on the left side, you find the accessible toilet.

Assistance dogs are always welcome.

Our Projects

Project "OpenRegioCulture" – Barrier-free access to culture

The project wants to make culture open for people with disabilities or chronic illness.
Tips and rules are created for organizers. This helps them to make their cultural offers barrier-free.

KulturRegion works with 10 partners from 9 countries.
The project started in 2024 and runs until March 2028.
It is financed by the European Union.

Participants are:

  • Cultural organizations
  • Artists
  • Groups engaged in the field of inclusion
  • Visitors of cultural events

Project "Geist der Freiheit"

The project wants to make democracy stronger.

It shows:

  • What people in the past did for democracy.
  • Why democracy is important.
  • How democracy works.
  • How people can support democracy today.

There are events and exhibitions.
They show how everyone can take part in democracy.
You find all events on our website.

On the project page, you find many materials: booklets, videos and more.

On the “Wissenskarte”, you see places where people worked for democracy in the past. You also see places where you can learn about democracy today. Click on a blue point to get information.

Participants are:

  • Cities and municipalities
  • Museums, archives and libraries
  • Schools and adult education centers
  • Cultural associations
  • People from culture, tourism and education

The project brings people from culture, education and voluntary work together.
They can exchange ideas and work together.

Project "GartenRheinMain"

Gardens, parks and nature places are important for many people.
You can rest, play and enjoy nature there.
Many people feel good in these places.
Gardens and parks are also important for plants, animals and the climate.

The project exists since 2004.
KulturRegion shows where gardens and parks are in the region.
People should learn more about green spaces and how to use them in a sustainable way.

There are events all year round.
You can learn about history of a garden or about protecting nature.

Events include:

  • Lectures
  • Seminars
  • Participation offers and more

Project "Route der Industriekultur Rhein-Main"

Industry is an important part of our history.
It changed our region.
The project tells the story of industry. It shows:

  • how people worked in factories in the past
  • how machines, railways and big buildings were built
  • how technology, work and life changed

You also see how industry looks today and what happened to old industrial buildings.

Discover industrial culture in the region.
On our map, you find more than 1,000 places of industrial culture.
Each place has a photo and a short text.

Events for young and old

Once a year the “Days of Industrial Culture Rhine-Main” take place.
KulturRegion organizes these days.

You can visit many special places:
old factories, warehouses, train stations or modern factories still in use.

For children and young people there is a special programme: Route der Industriekultur Junior.
Here young people can try things and learn about industrial culture.

Theatre Festival "Starke Stücke"

The festival takes place every spring.
It is a theatre festival for children and young people.
It is very popular. More than 10,000 people visit every year.
The festival exists since 1994.

The plays are about topics important for young people.
That is why the festival is called “Starke Stücke”.

The performances are different from normal theatre.
They are fun and make you think.
Many plays can be understood without words.
Artists come from all over the world.

The festival takes place at stages that are easy to reach.

Workshops and projects
It is not only about watching.
At “Starke Stücke” you can also act yourself.
There are many events during the year.
They are free or very cheap. Everyone can take part.

Museum Guide "Museen & Sonderausstellungen"

In the Rhine-Main region there are many museums and exhibitions.
The guide in German Language shows you:

  • big, famous museums
  • small, special museums
  • museums about art, history and local life
  • museums about nature or technology

The guide is free.
Every January there is a new edition.
It is valid for one year.
It exists already for 15 years.

In KulturLabor people discover the world with art, play and culture.
They can bring their own ideas.

There are events about different topics:
politics, theatre, industrial culture, nature and art.

KulturLabor is for everyone.
Young and older people meet each other.
